2011 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Barberani farm. The life of our company has always been centered on two key figures of the family, Luigi and Giovanna, just as the history of our wines has always focused on their respective passions: the native vines of our territory and the "Muffa Nobile". The traditional varieties reflect the most ancient tradition of our lands and are able to give wines of great structure and complexity. The "Muffa Nobile" instead knows how to enhance the elegance and aroma of the grapes, in a voluptuous game of poetry and sensations. From the union of these two passionate visions was born "LUIGI E GIOVANNA", the most representative wine of this mutual love for wine and life.

SIZE / WEIGHT: Bottles of 0,75 l.

ORIGIN: Umbria.

GRAPES: Grechetto 90%, Trebbiano Procanico 10%.

SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16°/18°.

STORAGE METHOD: Cool place away from sunlight.

RECOMMENDED PAIRINGS: Excellent pairing with even complex first courses, shellfish, fish, mixed fried foods and white meats.

SPECIFIC NOTES: Contains sulphites.

PRODUCER: Societa' Agricola Barberani & C.

And in the very festive procession of taste, wine sat on the royal throne. Restaurateur and hotelier in upper Friuli, Paron Mario soon realized that his mission was to excite people with his special love for wine and that to really do it, wine had to be produced with his own hands. 1969 was the year in which he acquired the first vineyards in the Collio, the year in which the great adventure began. An enthralling adventure that saw his sons Luciano, Gianfranco and Loris soon after become protagonists. The three made use of their father's teachings, learning to touch and feel the earth, indulge in the passage of time and the seasons, taste the grapes and see the secret of a small, great miracle inside. So in the years to come the lands owned by the family increased and many dreams became reality. That small farm today, with the third generation represented by Marco, Stefano and Mariaelena, has transformed into a winery of international prestige, an ambassador of the Friulian winemaking art in the world. But the origins are not forgotten and, above all, the flame of passion is ever more alive. Once upon a time there was a man, the first hero and author of a fairy tale, who wrote the first page, signing it with an indelible imprint. This book entitled "Fantinel" is to be savored with ecstasy. Wine is an ancient sentiment, a work that makes the world better. It is a mosaic of emotions, a masterpiece composed of precious stones skilfully placed next to each other with genius, creativity and inventiveness. But a good creator knows that every artistic form is born, always and in any case, from the respectful celebration of the original Creation. Honoring the earth is Fantinel's first vocation. A vocation that has its beating heart in Tauriano, near the ancient village of Spilimbergo, a town of culture known throughout the world for its prestigious Mosaic School. Here stands an elegant cellar surrounded by greenery, which takes care of the management of over 300 hectares of vineyards divided into the renowned DOC areas Grave, Prosecco, Collio. Unique terroirs, privileged areas that enjoy ideal microclimates for optimal fruit ripening and the maximum expression of each vine, among which the highly prized native grapes stand out. From these authentic caskets of rare gifts the peculiar conception of Fantinel was coined: a viticulture that is viticulture. Because only a vine that grows according to natural rhythms, based on respect for the vegetative cycle and the balance of the plant, can give life to rich fruit and, naturally, to majestic wines: harmonious paintings that radiate the sunlight, releasing the infinite shades of earth colors.

He dreamed of producing elegant and rich wines, obtained not only from native Sangiovese grapes, but also from those of his beloved Bordeaux and Burgundy. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, just to name a few. Sebastiano Cossia Castiglioni, Pepito's son, full-fledged investor and entrepreneur, converted the company to organic viticulture in 1988, making Querciabella one of the first wineries in Italy to make use of this practice. Under his leadership, Querciabella became known as one of Italy's best and most innovative winemakers in the early 20th century. Sebastiano's passion for animal rights and environmental protection has taken organic to Querciabella one step further. In 2000 Sebastiano introduced a 100% plant-based approach to biodynamics which prohibits the use of animal products in our vineyards or cellars. Querciabella was once again an innovator in the industry and an inspiration to the region. Today that single hectare in Tuscany is only a small part of the more than 100 hectares of Querciabella vineyards. And in these vibrant vineyards – flanked in the Chianti Classico region by oak groves and rolling hills, and in the Maremma by the rugged beauty of an unspoilt Tuscan coast – all the grape varieties Pepito dreamed of now thrive in the rich, biodynamic soil that has become the most important ingredient in Querciabella's award-winning recipes.
