And in the very festive procession of taste, wine sat on the royal throne. Restaurateur and hotelier in upper Friuli, Paron Mario soon realized that his mission was to excite people with his special love for wine and that to really do it, wine had to be produced with his own hands. 1969 was the year in which he acquired the first vineyards in the Collio, the year in which the great adventure began. An enthralling adventure that saw his sons Luciano, Gianfranco and Loris soon after become protagonists. The three made use of their father's teachings, learning to touch and feel the earth, indulge in the passage of time and the seasons, taste the grapes and see the secret of a small, great miracle inside. So in the years to come the lands owned by the family increased and many dreams became reality. That small farm today, with the third generation represented by Marco, Stefano and Mariaelena, has transformed into a winery of international prestige, an ambassador of the Friulian winemaking art in the world. But the origins are not forgotten and, above all, the flame of passion is ever more alive. Once upon a time there was a man, the first hero and author of a fairy tale, who wrote the first page, signing it with an indelible imprint. This book entitled "Fantinel" is to be savored with ecstasy. Wine is an ancient sentiment, a work that makes the world better. It is a mosaic of emotions, a masterpiece composed of precious stones skilfully placed next to each other with genius, creativity and inventiveness. But a good creator knows that every artistic form is born, always and in any case, from the respectful celebration of the original Creation. Honoring the earth is Fantinel's first vocation. A vocation that has its beating heart in Tauriano, near the ancient village of Spilimbergo, a town of culture known throughout the world for its prestigious Mosaic School. Here stands an elegant cellar surrounded by greenery, which takes care of the management of over 300 hectares of vineyards divided into the renowned DOC areas Grave, Prosecco, Collio. Unique terroirs, privileged areas that enjoy ideal microclimates for optimal fruit ripening and the maximum expression of each vine, among which the highly prized native grapes stand out. From these authentic caskets of rare gifts the peculiar conception of Fantinel was coined: a viticulture that is viticulture. Because only a vine that grows according to natural rhythms, based on respect for the vegetative cycle and the balance of the plant, can give life to rich fruit and, naturally, to majestic wines: harmonious paintings that radiate the sunlight, releasing the infinite shades of earth colors.

The Bastianich company, founded in 1997, consists of 27 hectares of vineyards. All the vineyards are located on the Colli Orientali del Friuli, in two distinct areas falling within the DOC area. The history of this land has deep roots. Viticulture in this region has been practiced since the 2nd century BC. , with the advent of the Romans who were the first to plant the vine. The millenary tradition, the particular clayey-marly soil called "ponca" and the numerous microclimates created by the winds of the Julian Alps and the proximity to the Adriatic Sea make the Colli Orientali del Friuli region one of the most suitable in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is these unique characteristics that allow the wines of this Doc to be particularly elegant and mineral, with a strong character that fully communicates the terroir.
