The Champagne Vintage 2012 "Veuve Clicquot" is the expression of a prodigious harvest, despite an extremely adverse climate. Despite the damage that led to a fairly modest harvest, the quality is optimal, with great aging potential for the wines. Naturally, the 2012 was declared a Veuve Clicquot Vintage, becoming the House's 66th since its first vintage of 1810. The uniqueness of the Veuve Clicquot Vintage collection lies in the addition of wines aged in large oak barrels, which bring strength and aromatic intensity. The predominance of Pinot noir and the woody touch bring structure and character, a hallmark of the Veuve Clicquot style.

Our Maison currently has one of the most important vineyards in the region, both in terms of surface area and quality. The 390 hectares are divided into 12 of the 17 Grand Crus and 20 of the 44 Premier Crus that make up the entire Champagne region. An exceptional heritage built over the centuries starting from the first parcels and plots planted by the founder and then expanded by the hand of the various Veuve Clicquot executives. A heritage that boasts above all the imprint of Madame Clicquot. The latter make up only one third of the total vineyard area of the Champagne wine region. The planting of the vineyards is established for the single parcels according to the soil, the climate and the exposure. The Veuve Clicquot vineyard is made up of 47% Chardonnay, 36% Pinot Noir and 17% Pinot Meunier. The vineyards of the Maison are positioned along the gentle hillsides, to benefit from the reduced thickness of the soil and the best sun exposure. Since its inception, Veuve Clicquot has built strong relationships with the winemakers of Champagne. As producers of grapes and white wines, they bring a constant and quality supply to the Maison.
