Chickpeas are among the valuable typical products of the agri-food heritage of the Umbrian-Marche Apennines. Cultivated in the Umbria region, on the areas of the Colfiorito plateau, they are legumes rich in proteins, vitamins and are an excellent source of energy. In the kitchen they adapt to many preparations, especially soups and cold dishes. Our producer's chickpeas are small, smooth and rounded and it is precisely for these characteristics that they differ from the more common chickpeas, which are rough on the surface and have a more elongated shape. They are very tender and with a good protein content and low fat. In particular, the hulled chickpeas, eliminating the problems generated by the peel, maintain all the nutritional values of the product, allowing only the best part of the legume to be taken.

RECOMMENDED PAIRINGS: Chickpeas are legumes rich in nutrients, generally used for delicious soups and soups. Excellent if tasted boiled, seasoned with extra virgin olive oil. They are perfect for a velvety or a cream, as they remain very soft and delicate. With quick cooking, they can also be enjoyed as a stewed side dish, in a soup or processed into tasty meatballs.
