Tonnarelli (also called Spaghetti alla chitarra ) are a type of long pasta that resembles "spaghetti". Traditionally they are made with an instrument called "guitar", an ancient loom with which the dough is cut. For this they also take the name of "spaghetti alla chitarra" or "maccheroni alla chitarra". They are widespread throughout central Italy.
